Beau Forte
A Vision for Change in New Jersey's Fifth District.

I'm an independent Green Party candidate for Congress in NJ's 5th District. Father of two, husband, homeowner, and former manufacturers' rep. Not a political insider. I believe universal healthcare should be a federal election staple. Current Dem incumbent dismisses it as 'socialist.' It's time for change.

My name is Beau Forte and I am running for Congress in NJ’s 5th Congressional district. I am a father, a husband, and a homeowner in West Milford. I grew up in Rochelle Park and was raised by my father with help from my grandparents and my aunt. My father worked hard to ensure I had the best childhood possible. In 1981, he purchased the home that I grew up in, and moved my grandparents and aunt in with us to help him raise me. It was the first time my grandparents didn’t have to worry about making rent payments and could have their own yard for a garden. My father was very proud of that.

I am a graduate of River Dell Regional High School in Oradell and Lincoln Technical Institute in Mahwah. Aside from a few years in Massachusetts, I am a lifelong resident of North Jersey. I started my career with a building supply company in Maplewood, NJ and have spent most of the last twenty years employed as a manufacturers representative for an independent sales agency. I covered a territory of multiple states, had the privilege of meeting and working with many wonderful people.

I am running for Congress for two main reasons. First, to reform and revive our healthcare system. For over fifteen years, I served as my father’s medical proxy and power of attorney. My father fell ill in 2007 and was not supposed to survive—thankfully, he did. After his illness, he had lingering health issues until he passed in 2023. Like many of you, I was happy to dedicate part of my life to caring for my father as he went through years of dialysis, open heart surgeries, diabetes issues, and falls, as he would go in-and-out of hospitals and rehab centers on top of having visiting nurses and in-home therapists. I saw almost every aspect of our healthcare system and concluded that it must change and change for the better.

The second reason I am running for Congress is the need for BETTER and TRUE representation. Currently, we do not have that. We have a Congressperson who does not believe in free speech, a congressperson who uses the office for his own personal gain, and a Congressperson who refuses to address issues with our healthcare system. Our current representative, if you can call him that, takes most of his donations from special interests while constituent concerns go unheard and unaddressed.

As a working-class citizen, a father, a husband and a taxpayer, this lack of representation is unacceptable. So it is time to take action. I stand ready to make the right and the tough decisions that will better the future for my children and yours. I’ll be a voice for citizens who have never been this disconnected from their representative or their government. I’ll set party politics aside and spend my days with those who I actually represent. It is time to end the corrupt party politics North Jersey has grown accustomed to and reintroduce responsible and practical leadership via issues that impact all of us. Let’s come together and reject the norm, reject both major parties, and unite for the sake of society, our environment, and our country.
